Richard Wagenheim, of counsel

Richard Wagenheim a founding partner of the law firm Wagenheim & Wagner, P.A., is also “of counsel” to the Winer Law Group. He focuses his practice on workers’ compensation and sports injury law. He been designated by the Florida Bar as Board Certified in Workers’ Compensation since 1989.*

Mr. Wagenheim received his undergraduate degree from Michigan State University in East Lansing, and graduated from the Detroit College of Law at Michigan State University in 1972. He is admitted to practice law in Florida, Michigan, Washington, D.C and the U.S. District Courts for the Southern District of Florida and Eastern District of Michigan.

He specializes in workers’ compensation and sports law representing injured and disabled workers, as well as professional athletes with career ending injuries including concussions. Mr. Wagenheim serves on the Workers’ Compensation Panels for the National Football League Players’ Association (NFLPA), Professional Hockey Players’ Association (PHPA), and National Hockey League Players’ Association (NHLPA), and provides representation to professional baseball players on behalf of the Major League Baseball Players’ Association (MLBPA).


Mr. Wagenheim has been honored as Attorney of the Year by both the NFLPA & PHPA. He also is a past recipient of the Broward County Bar Association’s Executive Director’s Award given for outstanding contributions to the legal community.

Mr. Wagenheim is a Director Emeritus of the Sports Lawyers’ Association, and has served as Chair of the Workers’ Compensation Section of the Broward County Bar Association. He has been a leader in the community serving on boards of the local chapter of the Urban League of Broward County and Florida Workers’ Advocates where he lobbied for the rights of injured workers. Mr. Wagenheim has also lectured at legal education conferences and at universities and law schools on workers’ compensation and sport law topics.
